The Torrita Neighbourhood
🎵 Audio guide
Located on a small hill behind the church, it is considered to be the district occupied by the Jewish community of Acebo until their expulsion from the Kingdom of Castile in 1492, where according to tradition their synagogue once stood.
With its narrow, winding streets and small granite houses it has a different character to the rest of the village. The rocky granite outcrops can be seen as part of the street surface and also in the construction of some of the houses.
